Keep the ritual, shift the relationship.
So many of the things we call habits are actually rituals. The evening drink. The smoke break. The endless scroll. The sweet thing we reach for when we need comfort.
These moments are not always about weakness or lack of willpower. Often, they are ways we soothe ourselves, mark a transition, seek connection, find relief, or create a pause in the day.
At Happy Herb Co, we believe these moments deserve curiosity, not shame. Habit Shifting Herbs is our invitation to explore your daily rituals with more awareness, more kindness, and more choice.
This collection brings together herbs and blends that can support a more conscious relationship with the habits woven through modern life, from smoking and drinking, to scrolling, cravings and comfort.
It is not about restriction, perfection, or taking away the rituals that make us human. It is about asking a gentler question:
Can I keep the ritual, but shift the relationship?
Start here with Laura, CEO of Happy Herb Co, as she shares the heart behind the collection.
Explanation of Habit Shifting Herbs
Below, you’ll find each of the four Habit Shifting themes explored in more detail.
Each section is designed to help you recognise the ritual behind the habit, understand what you may be reaching for, and discover herbs that can support a more conscious relationship with that moment.
From smoke-based rituals and evening drinks, to scrolling, cravings and comfort — this is where we begin to look a little deeper.
Keep the ritual. Shift the relationship.

Smoke-based rituals can be deeply woven into daily life and the way we mark the end of the day or create a sense of connection.
At Happy Herb Co, we need to be mindful about how we speak around tobacco and cannabis alternatives, but what we can say is this: we’ve spent nearly 30 years crafting herbal smoking blends, and this has become one of the most loved parts of our herbal offering.
Whether you're looking for something calming, dreamy, social, flavourful, or simply something to mix with your other herbs, we have a blend for that.
Our tobacco alternatives range now includes 18 blends, and to make it easier to explore, we’ve created sample bundles based around different ritual moments and intentions.

Rethink the Drink
So what do we mean by Rethink the Drink?
For many of us, alcohol is woven into rituals of relaxation, celebration, connection and transition. It might be the glass at the end of the day, the drink that helps us feel more social, or the little signal that says, “I can finally switch off now.”
This theme isn’t about restriction or judgement. It’s about asking what we’re really reaching for in those moments , is it pleasure, ease, confidence, connection, or a habit that would benefit from some reframing. We invite you to explore whether herbs can become part of that ritual instead.
Our alcohol alternatives are designed to help you shift the ritual, not just the drink. Whether it’s a dreamy nightcap, a sparkly social sipper, or a calming companion to your evening wind-down, herbs offer a gentler way to elevate the moment and come back to yourself.
If you’re unsure where to start, try Blue Lily Bliss or Damiana Delight tinctures in soda for a simple botanical drink ritual, or Kava, a traditional islanders drink that is often used instead of alcohol.

Free the Mind
For many of us, scrolling has become one of the most automatic rituals of modern life. A quick check becomes a long drift that can rob you of hours.
Often scrolling entertains us and connects us with our friends, and its great for giving us a window into a world we may never have known without it. But its when it becomes the thing we reach for when we don’t quite know what else we need.
Free the Mind is an invitation to gently bring your attention back from everybody else’s world and into your own. To create a moment for you to expllore your own minds landscape, and make space for clarity, curiosity, presence and imagination.
For this theme, we’re pointing you toward our Explore the Mind’s Garden article, a deeper dive into plant allies, introspection and natural ways to explore consciousness. It was originally written for our more adventurous psychonaut community, but it also speaks beautifully to anyone wanting to replace the endless scroll with a more intentional journey inward.
Balance the Bite
For many of us, food is more than fuel. It can be comfort, pleasure, reward, distraction, celebration, or a way to soothe ourselves when life feels full.
And again, this isn’t about shame. The sweet thing we reach for at night, the snack when we’re tired, the craving that arrives when we’re stressed, these moments are often trying to meet a real need.
Balance the Bite is an invitation to bring more awareness and care into those moments. To pause before the automatic reach. To ask what your body, mind or emotions might really be asking for, and to explore herbs that can support a more grounded relationship with sweetness, cravings and nourishment.
A beautiful place to begin is Gymnema, known in Ayurveda as the “sugar destroyer,” and long associated with a more considered relationship with sugar and sweet cravings.
Keep the ritual. Shift the relationship.
The habits we reach for often hold a deeper message. They may be asking for rest, comfort, connection, pleasure, release, or a moment to return to ourselves. Habit Shifting Herbs is here to help you listen with more kindness, and explore botanical allies that support a more conscious relationship with the rituals woven through your life.
