The key difference between a licensor and a franchisor is that the franchisor exercises greater control over the franchise and its business. This includes reporting, marketing expectations, auditing employment records, display, and pretty much stipulates everything you do.

The Happy Herb license model provides much more room for diversification and creating your own theme for the shop (within reason).

If you want to sell something that is very different then you just need to run it by us to ensure the brand integrity remains intact.

We appreciate that there is much to learn and we really support you to get started, but the real learning happens when you start experiencing the customers and the vast landscape that we cover, so we remain on call for you throughout this process.

Within 2-3 weeks you will be amazed at how well you're doing. 2-3 months you will be all over it! Beyond that, the answer is we are always learning and growing in this space and that is actually one of the great things about running your own store.

As a bricks and mortar store you can also become an affiliate simply by sharing the Happy Herb online shop with your customers – you will gain the highest rate of affiliate returns of 20%. You may also wish to send customers from your branded social media pages. We fulfill the order and issue you payment each month.

The Happy Herb online shop is a company-owned store, however we aim to share the sales with you in a few ways, including Click and Collect options and a percentage of sales you send our way (either through your shop profile page on our website, or through our affiliate program).

You sure can. In order to avoid brand confusion though you will need to create your own brand for this, EG Bobs Herbs online, which you can feed off your own Happy Herb shop profile on our website. We can support you by providing a template website if desired.

We partner with a dispensary so your customers can still access prescription plant medicines through your store. You get a referral fee for each prescription, so this can lead to an easy yet lucrative revenue stream.

No, we have wholesale opportunities for independent retailers, but we do need to ensure that they are not in the same territory as our licensed stores and that their virtues align with ours.

Yes – we have options for this that are approached on an individual basis. Our desire is to connect more humans with herbs and so we are open to and support many ways to do this.

Yes, many of our store operators have several stores. There is an initial license fee for each store, but on a case-by-case basis there are discounts provided if you are already a licensee.

This depends on the location. As a rule of thumb it's 10km in rural areas and 3km in major cities, however a 30 minute drive is usually also a good benchmark.

All of our shops are variable in size, from as small as 15sqm to 70sqm. The ideal size is probably 40sqm, but it really depends on what you want to sell and your location.

Small shops offer an intimate space whereas large shops can offer a much bigger product range.

Yes. Many of our stores have additional treatment rooms that compliment the store very much.
