Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels, radix)
Dong Quai is the dried root of Angelica sinensis, a traditional herb widely used in Chinese herbal medicine. The root contains a range of active compounds including ferulic acid, ligustilide, phthalides, organic acids, and polysaccharides (1). These constituents have been studied for their roles in supporting circulation, modulating smooth-muscle tone, influencing hormonal balance pathways, and contributing antioxidant activity (2).
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dong Quai is regarded as a blood-nourishing and harmonising herb, used to support menstrual regularity, vitality and overall reproductive wellbeing (2). Modern research continues to investigate its effects on uterine smooth muscle, vascular function, and inflammatory signalling (1).

Dong Quai
Dong Quai has been used for over a thousand years and is one of the top five herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine.
Dong Quai has been a great addition to my herbal tea blends during my moon time.
It has also been wonderful in counteracting the effects of taking Iron tablets, that cause constipation, making it naturally easier to go to the toilet without any harsh side effects!
Hi Nikki, This is a wonderful way to work with Dong Quai! Thank you for sharing your experience. We are so grateful for this ally especially for moon cycles/women's health and are thrilled that you have been able to experience its healing effects.
With love, Happy Herb Co
Love it. Nice flavour as a tea. Recommend to all.
