Sarsaparilla — A Foundational Practice for Daily Cleansing
The root behind the soft drink, long before the soft drink. Sarsaparilla (Smilax regelii) was carried from Central America to Europe in the sixteenth century and has a history of use alongside the skin and the spring clean ever since. Earthy, faintly sweet and a little like vanilla, it is a powder people reach for as a daily cleansing cup through a change of season, mixed with honey and hot water.
