Andrographis Paniculata
Andrographis paniculata is an herb whose leaves and aerial parts contain a group of compounds known as diterpene lactones — among which the most studied is andrographolide. These phytochemicals interact with the body’s immune and inflammatory systems, for example by inhibiting certain signalling pathways in immune cells and modulating oxidative stress responses(1).
In traditional systems such as Ayurveda and Chinese medicine the plant has been used for symptoms like inflammation, sore throat and respiratory discomfort, and in modern research it has been explored for upper respiratory tract infections and related conditions(2).
