White Lily (Nymphaea ampla) — Dried Whole Plant Material / Aerial Parts
The aquatic plant Nymphaea ampla belongs to the water lily family (Nymphaeaceae) and its aerial organs contain diverse phytochemicals including flavonoids, isoflavones, triterpene glycosides and other polyphenolic compounds that have been isolated and structurally elucidated in comparative phytochemical studies.¹,² These flavonoids and glycosides contribute to antioxidant and redox-modulating activity in vitro, with analytical work demonstrating multiple glycosylated flavones from N. ampla and related species.¹,²
In Mayan and other cultural contexts, water lilies like N. ampla are depicted in art and have been associated with calming or mild trance-inducing effects attributed historically to alkaloid-related chemistry, including aporphine-type compounds identified in older phytochemical literature.³ Contemporary biochemical research continues to explore how phenolic and flavonoid constituents interact with oxidative and cellular signalling pathways in model systems without implying product effects.¹,²

Norma Took me a while to get to this one. For me personally, it is mildly relaxing. There is definitely a noticeable effect, but it not quite as strong as I'd personally like it to be. I'm glad that I tried it and look forward to finishing the packet :)

Mat A relaxing smoke. Okay in my experience if you're drinking. Not as good a flavour as the blue however not unpleasant. Best to grind or chop finer for rolling purposes but acceptable for pipes. Not gonna get you high per sé but it will chill you out nicely. I recommend this. The only drawback is that I enjoy the aroma and flavour of the blue more and am forced to make that comparison.
