Marshmallow Root Syrup
Marshmallow root is a primary herb for inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract such as gastritis, ulcers and colitis. It is a soothing demulcent that helps repair the gut lining, and also nourishes the microbiome. This syrup is a wonderful remedy to have on hand if you suffer from any of these conditions. It can also be used for sore throat, coughs, or acid reflux.
Instructions
Ingredients:
- 50g Marshmallow Root powder
- 250ml Water (room temperature)
- 400g Organic Raw Sugar
Things you'll need:
- Scale
- Nut milk bag
- Measuring cup
- Saucepan
- Amber glass bottle
Method:
- Weigh 50g Marshmallow Root powder
- Combine with 250ml water & stir well
- Place in the fridge & macerate overnight
- In the morning, strain though a nut milk & squeeze out all of the liquid.
- Add the liquid to a saucepan with 400g organic raw sugar
- Heat gently until all the sugar dissolves
- Let cool & pour into a clean, dry amber glass bottle
