The primary use of Milk Thistle is to protect liver cells from damage. It is excellent to take before and after consuming rich greasy foods, drugs, alcohol, coffee and exposure to toxins - great for hangover prevention! It is also used for jaundice, liver problems, cirrhosis and all gall-bladder issues. Milk Thistle is also used (as the name indicates) to promote breastmilk production, and is considered safe for nursing mothers.

Preparation: Chew 1 tsp of seeds thoroughly, or add ground seeds to food. Tea - boil 1-2 tsp of ground seeds in 1 cup water for 10 minutes.

Lis T. It's earned the moniker of 'Magic Powder' in my household and for very good reason: it's made a significant difference in the quality of life for my sweet, geriatric feathered companion.
She loves this stuff. She's gluttonous when I add it to her meals, which is a relief since it saves me from stressing her to give her the old liver medication her vet had previously prescribed. Her mobility has improved greatly and she's gone from being very subdued/tired to playing nonstop like she used to.

Norma L. I'm really glad that I found milk thistle! I only use this when I want to drink some alcohol. I have tried the What Hangover and really liked that but I wanted to explore this herb on its own as well. I put it in a nice cold chocolate, banana smoothie before having some wine and did not get hungover at all the next day. It feels great waking up and not being unwell but also knowing that my liver is being protected and supported. It makes having some wine even more enjoyable. :)
