Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) — seed/fruit (Silybi mariani fructus)
The seeds (often referred to as the fruit) of Silybum marianum, commonly known as milk thistle, are rich in a flavonolignan complex called silymarin (which includes compounds such as silybin, isosilybin, silychristin and silydianin)¹. This complex is thought to exert antioxidant, membrane-stabilising and possibly cell-protective effects on liver tissue, thus aligning with its long-standing use in traditional herbal medicine for liver and gallbladder support. The stem of evidence comes from the formal herbal medicinal monograph by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for Silybi mariani fructus, which recognises its use, on the basis of traditional use, for symptomatic relief of digestive disorders (sensation of fullness, indigestion) and to support liver function². While these uses are grounded in longstanding tradition and preliminary clinical data, the monograph emphasises that the evidence is not strong enough to classify seed-derived milk thistle preparations as “well-established use” for more serious liver disease¹.

Milk Thistle
Milk Thistle is one of the most effective liver herbs that helps protect liver cells from toxins, regenerate damaged tissue, and support overall liver function.

I got this to help support liver function, and there seems to be a clearing happening. Will have to use longer to see if it is truly efficacious.
This is so soothing. I feel very calmed and supported by this herb. It’s made processing life so much smoother.
Very happy with the product and the service.
Thank you so much Jason! Glad to hear you are enjoying your Milk Thistle.
It's earned the moniker of 'Magic Powder' in my household and for very good reason: it's made a significant difference in the quality of life for my sweet, geriatric feathered companion.
She loves this stuff. She's gluttonous when I add it to her meals, which is a relief since it saves me from stressing her to give her the old liver medication her vet had previously prescribed. Her mobility has improved greatly and she's gone from being very subdued/tired to playing nonstop like she used to.
It's honestly awesome. I'm so glad my veterinarian suggested this milk thistle product as well as Happy Herb.
ahh thas great to hear thanks for sharing. Laura x.
Actually works, very happy with it.
