Digest Aid Tea
If you’re having trouble digesting after a heavy meal, or just feel like you could use a little help stimulating and soothing the digestive process - this combination of herbs can help ease gas and bloating and also provides natural digestive enzymes to help break down protein.
Peppermint relaxes the digestive muscles, alleviating bloating and gas. It improves bile flow, which helps break down fats and supports digestion.
Chamomile has a calming effect on the digestive system, reducing inflammation and promoting smooth digestion, which can help prevent the overgrowth of harmful bacteria.
Fennel eases bloating by reducing gas formation and relaxing the gut muscles. It helps to move food through the digestive tract more efficiently.
Paw Paw Leaf contains papain, an enzyme known to help to break down tough proteins into amino acids. It is also antioxidant & anti-inflammatory, and is used to detoxify the intestines and expel parasites.
Ginger contains the protease zingibain, which digests proteins into their building blocks. It also reduces inflammation, soothes the stomach, and promotes motility, helping to alleviate bloating and support a balanced gut environment.
Instructions
Ingredients:
Per cup:
- 1/2 tsp Peppermint
- 1/2 tsp Chamomile
- 1/2 tsp Paw Paw Leaf
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Ginger, fresh grated
Method:
- Add herbs to your teapot (or tea cup with infuser).
- Pour over boiling water.
- Cover & infuse for 10 minutes.
- Strain (or remove infuser) & enjoy.
- Drink after a heavy meal for improved digestion, or any time to settle the stomach.
