Candida

Candida (candida albicans) is a pathogenic yeast/fungus. While a common member of human gut flora, candida is also the most common cause of fungal infections in humans. Typically your healthy bacteria keep the level of candida low, but if it rises to an unhealthy amount due to a disruption in the immune system or healthy bacteria levels, it can cause a fungal infection know a Candidiasis.
