The name of this herb means ‘cough stopper’ and has been used as such for millennia. Coltsfoot clears mucus from the lungs, soothes lung tissue and stops wheezing.
Although it takes a bit of work and patience to grind finely and remove pieces of stalk, and causes some initial coughing for me if I smoke too much at once, coltsfoot works well as a tobacco substitute through a water pipe, and is quite mild and easy to smoke in small quantities at a time, with an appealing taste.
Am happy with the product, tho it does have a lot of stalk bits. Just takes awhile to pick them out.
Is helping me wean off tobacco.
Hi, great to hear youre happy, and sorry about the stalks, we do go through and pick out quite a few but sometimes we need to share the load with the user. Coltsfoot can be great for clearing mucous on the lungs and many people drink it as a tea, although it is restricted for consumption in Australia. If you are smoking it to wean off tobacco then maybe our no nic blend would be good https://www.happyherbshop.com.au/products/no-nic , or add some Passionflower to your coltsfoot as it is an addiction interupter. Thanks Laura
I use coltsfoot for my COPD. I smoke it in a pipe and I make rollies, I am a practicing witch so I totally believe in herbs and their ability to heal. Coltsfoot is pleasant to smoke and makes it easier for you to breath.
That's so good to hear, I know you're not supposed to drink it as a tea, but often people with COPD do and get much benefit from it. Thanks for the review, Laura.
An amazing herb that has helped change my life for the better! I recommend using it as a mix with Damiana, Marshmallow leaf & Blue Lily.
Brilliant, its also good to help lung congestion so it helps if you're smoking anyway. Thanks Laura
This one is worth a try, it’s helpful for mucus on the lungs but it doesn’t burn very well so needs to chopped extra fine, I might try it again in the cold winter months.
You could blend it with marshmallow or try one of the blends that its in that has other lung supporting herbs such as https://www.happyherbshop.com.au/products/peace-pipe
It's not supposed to be consumed as a tea in case you take it in large quantities, but a lot of people with lung issues use it with great success. Thanks for the review, Laura.
