Damiana (Turnera diffusa Willd. ex Schult.) – dried herb
Damiana is a small aromatic shrub native to Mexico and parts of Central and South America. The dried leaves contain several groups of active plant compounds, including flavonoids (such as apigenin), volatile oils, cyanogenic glycosides, and alkaloids like damianin(1). These constituents have been studied for their potential to support nervous-system balance, mild mood regulation, and digestive comfort, while also contributing antioxidant activity(1).
In traditional Mexican and Central American herbal medicine, Damiana has long been used as a general tonic herb, valued for supporting energy, wellbeing, and reproductive vitality(2). Modern phytochemical research continues to explore its effects on mood pathways, smooth-muscle tone, and metabolic processes(1).

Recipes featuring Damiana
The tea by itself doesn't taste the greatest, but is still okay if I'm in the mood for that spesific tea, but Damiana for me really shines as a tobbacoo alternative with no noticable withdrawal symptomps you would get from your classic cig. Smoking anything is a bad idea, but at least I can smoke Damiana whenever I chose too, and not have to deal with those nasty withdrawal symptoms from nicotine. The effects are simialr too, if you roll a big enough joint of the stuff.
I have found small rocks in every single packet I have bought. Is this an attempt to make it weigh more so you can use less product?
Absolutely great
Used in aid to quit nicotine and has helped
Damiana is a great choice for anyone trying to stop smoking cannabis, I have suffered with trying to fight cravings and by using Damiana I have been able to minimise them altogether. Damiana can give you similar effects to cannabis, but not in your head, It is instead a relaxing body stone. You can also get similar effects from making it into a tea.
So glad you have found a herbal ally in our Damiana Wade! It is a staff favourite here at Happy Herb HQ.
