Jasmine Flower (Jasminum officinale L.)
Jasmine flower from Jasminum officinale is best known for its intense, sweet fragrance. The petals and their essential oil contain a complex mix of aromatic compounds such as linalool, benzyl acetate, benzyl alcohol and jasmine, as well as flavonoids and other phenolic constituents¹. These molecules have been studied for antioxidant, mildly sedative, mood-modulating and antimicrobial activities, mainly in laboratory and small human studies².
Traditional use across parts of Asia and the Middle East includes fragrant teas, bath and massage oils, and aromatic preparations used for relaxation, emotional balance and skin care¹. Modern research continues to explore how inhaled or topically applied jasmine aroma may interact with the nervous system and stress-related pathways².
